Detailed Day-Wise Itinerary

Day 01

7th October (Wednesday) — Overnight Transit from Delhi

Departure from Delhi at 10:00 PM in mountain transit.
Overnight road journey across the plains into the foothills of Kumaon.

Day 02

8th October (Thursday) — Foothills to Binsar (Forests, Layers & First Night Sky Session)

Drive: Approx. 4.5–5.5 hours from foothills (Bhimtal–Bhowali–Almora route) | Stay: Binsar.

Arrive in Binsar by afternoon, check-in, and settle in. The afternoon is dedicated to intimate forest compositions—framing light filtering through ancient pine and oak canopies.
Late afternoon and sunset session at Zero Point for panoramic mountain layers, compressed telephoto frames of distant Himalayan ridges, and blue-hour long exposures.
Evening introductory theory session followed by post-dinner introduction to astrophotography: wide-angle starscape and star-trail compositions framed above the dark forest silhouettes (weather and sky permitting).

Day 03

9th October (Friday) — Binsar to Dharchula (Changing Mountain Landscapes)

Drive: Approx. 190–210 km (7–8 hours) | Stay: Dharchula

Early morning departure driving through Berinag, Thal, and Didihat towards the Indo-Nepal border town of Dharchula.
Focus on visual road storytelling, layered valley switchbacks, deep river gorges, and remote mountain hamlets along the route.
Blue-hour against the dramatic steep valley terrain of Dharchula.

Day 04

10th October (Saturday) — Dharchula to Dugtu / Dantu (Entering the Darma Valley)

Drive: Approx. 75 km (5–6.5 hours via 4x4 Bolero/Camper) | Altitude: 10,500 ft | Stay: Traditional Village Homestay

Shift to high-clearance 4x4 vehicles for the rugged route via Tawaghat, Sobla, Dar, and Nagling.
Document narrow river canyons, rugged gorges, rock faces, and arrival into traditional Bhotiya villages.
Sunset and night sky session at 10,500 ft, capturing the pristine, zero-light-pollution dark skies framed by rustic slate-and-wood village architecture.

Day 05

11th October (Sunday) — Dugtu & Dantu (Heritage Village Landscapes & Deep Night Sky)

Altitude: 10,500–11,000 ft | Stay: Dugtu Homestay

A dedicated slow-photography and acclimatization day. Walk through Dugtu and Dantu to photograph carved wooden window frames, textured stone walls, and cultural streetscapes.
Gentle afternoon hike for elevated vantage points overlooking the entire Darma Valley basin.
Dedicated post-sunset astro-masterclass: nightscapes, star trails, Milky Way alignment, and controlled foreground lighting techniques against Himalayan peaks.

Day 06

12th October (Monday) — Dugtu to Panchachuli Base Camp & Return (The Centerpiece Shoot)

Trek Easy Level: 8–10 km round trip (4–5 hours) | Max Altitude: 13,800 ft | Stay: Dugtu

Pre-dawn start to catch first light hitting the five majestic summits of the Panchachuli range.
Capture alpine meadows, glacial moraine textures, braided riverbeds, leading lines, and mountain-scale panoramas.
Afternoon image review, RAW workflow clinic, and final night photography session in Darma Valley.

Day 07

13th October (Tuesday) — Dugtu / Dharchula to Chaukori (The Himalayan Panorama)

Drive: Valley descent and drive to Chaukori | Stay: Chaukori

Descend from high-altitude terrain into the pine ridges and tea garden slopes of Chaukori.
Golden hour and sunset shoot capturing sweeping wide-angle views of the Nanda Devi, Trishul, and Panchachuli ranges.
Final nightscape and star-trail photography session under clear Kumaon skies.

Day 08

14th October (Wednesday) — Chaukori to Delhi (Return Transit)

Drive: Chaukori to Kathgodam (6–7 hours) and onward express highway drive to Delhi.

Morning golden hour shoot over the Chaukori tea estates followed by a descent through scenic Kumaon valleys.
Arrival and drop-off in Delhi by 9:00 PM, concluding the expedition.

01Fitness & Precautions for High-Altitude Photography

Altitude Profile: The tour reaches a maximum altitude of ~13,800 ft at the Panchachuli Base Camp viewpoint, with village stays at ~10,500–11,000 ft in Darma Valley.
Physical Requirement: Prior technical mountaineering experience is not required, but basic cardiovascular fitness and stamina for 4–5 hours of alpine walking (8–10 km round trip) are necessary.
Pace & Mentoring: The pace is deliberately kept slow and photography-centric to allow ample time for composition, acclimatization, and breathing.
Dynamic Mountain Weather: High-altitude mountain weather changes quickly; the tour leader reserves the final call to adjust shoot timings or trek routes for safety.

02Workshop Nature, Logistics & Flexibility

Dedicated Photography Focus: This is an intensive Landscape & Astrophotography Workshop, not a casual holiday. Daily schedules revolve around golden hours, blue hours, and late-night dark-sky sessions.
Sleep & Shooting Routine: Sleep schedules are built around the best light; participants are expected to follow group rise and sleep timings for optimal shoot windows.
Accommodations: Double/twin-sharing basis across scenic hotels in Binsar/Chaukori and rustic, traditional homestays in Darma Valley.
Offbeat Realities: In remote Himalayan hamlets, food is fresh, wholesome, and locally sourced. Power backup is arranged for homestay charging.
Cold Weather Preparedness: Night temperatures at ~10,500–13,800 ft can drop to sub-zero levels; adequate heavy thermal layering, windproof jackets, and insulated gloves are mandatory.

03Tour Rules and Operational Etiquette

Transit Stops: Vehicle stops along mountain roads are planned by tour leaders for specific compositions and safety. Exits at brief roadside spots are strictly timed to keep the schedule on track.
Respecting Visual Frames: Ensure everyone gets a clear vantage point before claiming an angle; share foregrounds cooperatively.
Eco-Sensitivity & Leave No Trace: Strictly zero littering in alpine meadows and remote villages; all non-biodegradable waste must be packed back.
Gear Responsibility: Participants must take personal care of their own gear and any partner equipment (Nikon/Leofoto) borrowed during hands-on sessions.
Constructive Image Reviews: Evening post-processing and review clinics are designed for positive growth and refining your individual visual voice.

04Group Size (Minimum / Maximum)

Intimate Capacity: Capped at 5 to 7 participants to maintain high-quality, 1-on-1 field mentoring.
Minimum Quorum: Requires a minimum of 5 participants to operate at the standard pricing.

05Emergency Mid-Trip Departure

If a participant must depart early due to personal emergencies or health issues, no refund can be granted for unutilized days, and any additional individual return transport costs to Kathgodam/Delhi are borne by the participant.

06Recommended Photography Equipment

Camera Bodies: Any DSLR or mirrorless camera with manual exposure capabilities.
Lenses:
- Ultra-wide to wide-angle lenses (f/2.8 or faster preferred for astrophotography).
- Standard zoom (24–70mm) for general valley compositions.
- Telephoto lens (70–200mm or 100–400mm) for mountain compression, isolated peaks, and ridge textures.
Accessories: Sturdy tripod (essential for long exposures/astro), Neutral Density Filter- ND10 and Polariser recommended, shutter release cable/intervalometer optional, L-bracket, lens cleaning kit, and extra camera batteries (keep batteries warm inside jacket pockets in cold weather).

07Non-Photographer Companions

Spouses or companions who appreciate remote mountain travel and traditional culture are welcome, provided they respect the slower, photography-driven schedule and early morning/late night routines. The package fee remains the same.

08Age Eligibility

Open to individuals aged 15 years and above who are comfortable with high-altitude road journeys, rustic homestays, and walking in alpine conditions.

09Image Rights and Usage

By participating, you grant thEscape permission to feature workshop behind-the-scenes and select participant showcase images (always credited to you) across official platforms and promotional features.

10Room Sharing Allocation

Room/homestay allocation is arranged strictly on a same-sex twin-sharing basis unless traveling together as a couple or family.

11Network & Mobile Connectivity

Mobile networks (Jio / Airtel / BSNL) are available in Binsar, Chaukori, and Dharchula. Connectivity is extremely limited or unavailable once deep inside the high Darma Valley (Dugtu/Dantu).

12Tour Mentorship & Leadership

Support Team: Dedicated Tour Manager, mountain-certified local trekking guides, and experienced local 4x4 mountain drivers.

13Code of Conduct & Prohibitions

Zero Tolerance for Drugs/Substances: Possession or use of illegal/narcotic substances results in immediate termination of the trip without refund.
Zero Tolerance for Misbehaviour: Any form of misbehaviour—including causing distress to fellow participants or locals, property damage, verbal abuse toward support staff, or sexual harassment—will result in an immediate warning or outright expulsion from the expedition at the tour leader's sole discretion without any refund. Any return transit costs incurred will be borne entirely by the participant.
Alcohol Policy: Strictly prohibited during high-altitude walks and night astro sessions for acclimatization and safety.
Behavior: Respectful interactions with local Bhotiya communities and fellow travelers are mandatory.

14Additional Terms, Permits & Travel Documents

Reporting Time: The group departs promptly from Delhi at 10:00 PM on Wednesday, 7th October 2026.
Permits & Identity Verification: All participants must carry original government-issued photo identity proof for Inner Line Permit (ILP) verification and border checkpoints.
Indemnity: A standard high-altitude expedition indemnity and medical self-declaration form must be submitted prior to the trip start.

Payment Terms & Booking Procedure

Total Tour Cost: ₹57,000/- per person (exclusive of 5% GST).
Booking Amount: Rs. 10,000 + 5% GST (Rs. 500) = Rs. 10,500 at the time of confirmation.
Final Balance Payment: ₹47,000/- + 5% GST (Rs. 2350) = Rs. 49,350, due 30 days prior to departure (on or before 7th September 2026).
Invoicing & Digital Payments: Invoices are issued for every payment. For payments via Razorpay/credit cards, payment gateway charges (2% transaction fee + applicable 18% GST on the fee) apply.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

30+ Days Prior (Up to 7th September 2026): 50% refund of the advance booking amount.
Less than 30 Days Prior (After 7th September 2026) / No Final Payment: Non-refundable (no refund of advance or balance).
Cancellation by Organizer: In the unlikely event of tour cancellation due to extreme weather, safety directives, or fewer than 5 participants, 100% of the tour fee paid will be refunded. Travelers should book flexible transit/flight tickets; the organizer is not liable for independent travel booking costs.
Late Payments & Seat Transfers: Failure to clear the balance on schedule may forfeit the seat and advance. Seats can be transferred if a replacement participant is arranged.

Payment is completed on Razorpay. The payment option is only released while this tour remains active.
